New Delhi:  TO THE NEW, a digital technology company, organized GeekCombat, a 2-day hackathon at their Noida office last week. The hackathon was co-sponsored by CarDekho, Daffodil Software and #fame. The theme of hackathon was Smarter India and the platform was served as a collaborative platform to learn and network.

The first edition of GeekCombat witnessed over 300 participants from various companies including Sapient, TCS, Daffodil Software, Xebia, RBS, Girnar Software and Wipro.

Speaking on the event Deepak Mittal, CEO, TO THE NEW, said, “ We have always fostered a culture of innovation and GeekCombat is another step towards promoting innovation. GeekCombat is a platform aimed to make people think out of the box, bring those ideas to life and further innovate to build a Smarter India. We are excited to see a lot of creative minds collaborating and developing solutions to address the economic and societal issues.”

The esteemed jury panel for GeekCombat, included Deepak Mittal, CEO – TO THE NEW, Yogesh Aggarwal, CEO – Daffodil Software, Vikrant Verma, VP Sales & Strategy – CarDekho, Sanjay Kumar, Engineering Leader – Amazon and Jagmal Singh, Director New Car Strategy – CarDekho.

GeekCombat’s winning team came up with an innovative augmented reality based idea focused on making learning more fun. The mobile app created by the team featured an interactive camera which gives user all the relevant information pertaining to that object, when scanned through camera.
