Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s central banker, has invited applications from eligible candidates for 610 posts of Assistant in various offices of the Bank across the country. As per the recruitment notification, released by RBI, the selection for the post will be through a nation-wide competitive Examination in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by an Interview. The online submission of application via RBI official portal has already started from 07 November 2016. The closing date for submission online application is 28 November 2016.

Eligibility: The candidate should be between 20 and 28 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 08/11/1988 and not later than 07/11/1996 (both days including) are only eligible to apply. Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit is available as per the Government Laws and Rules.

Educational Qualifications (as on 07.11.2016): i) At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC. ii) A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service. iii) Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

 Selection Procedure: Broadly the entire selection will be done in three phases:

Preliminary Online Test: The test will have 100 marks with duration of One Hour. This objective type test will have three parts: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability.

Main Online Test: Candidates who shall qualify in Preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination. The Main Online test will have 200 marks with duration of Two Hours. This objective type test will have five parts: Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge.

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Main examination).1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Interview: The shortlisted candidates in the Main examination will subsequently be called for Interview. Total marks in interview is 35 marks.

Final selection will be on the basis of candidate’s performance in the online main examination and interview taken together in order of merit.
