Pune: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), a Technological Institute of National repute of Ministry of Defence/DRDO for higher learning, has announced admissions to Post Graduate and PhD programmes for the academic year 2017 – 18, to eligible Indian citizens. The application window has opened from 28 March 2017. The online application will close on 22 April 2017. The closing date for receipt of hard copy of application is 29 April 2017.
Post Graduate Programmes: Under Post Graduate programmes, MTech Programmes, Master of Science, PG Diploma, MS (By Research) programmes are offered by the Institute. MTech Proggrames are offered by DIAT in the following disciplines: Aerospace Engineering (total intake-50), Modelling and Simulation (25), Computer Science and Engineering (25), Electronics & Communication Engineering (75), Mechanical Engineering (75), Sensor Technology, Laser and Electo-Optics (LEOC) (25), Material Science and Chemical Technology (75), Opto Electronics & Communication Systems (25); Technology Management (25) for sponsored/self sponsored candidates; Materials Engineering (25), Corrosion Engineering (25) for sponsored (DRDO/Tri Servcices/DPSUs/PSUs/Industry) only.

MASTER OF SCIENCE (MS) (BY RESEARCH) PROGRAMME (Only for candidates sponsored by PSUs or Industry)
Eligibility Conditions:
Admission to the MTech programme shall be made directly based on GATE score. Candidates are required to submit separate applications for each specialization. Admission to a specialization shall be made based on separate GATE discipline wise merit list.
Qualification: Candidates who are desirous to join the above mentioned M. Tech Programmes in DIAT must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in Science as applicable to the programme@ with 55% aggregate marks/5.5 CGPA and valid GATE score.
Age Limit: Not more than 26 years as on 01 July 2017. Relaxations as per GOI rules.
Financial Support: Scholarship Category students are eligible for applying for Scholarship (Presently Rs. 12,400/- per month) under DBT scheme of AICTE, during the MTech Course, subject to attendance. No financial support will be available from DIAT (DU), Pune.
The course will commence form 1st week of July 2017.DIAT, deemed university, imparts education and training in the Advanced Technologies used for Tri-services, DRDO, DPSU’s etc.
