Hyderabad: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has invited online applications from eligible candidates for MTech and Executive MTech in Data Science 2017 (EMDS) programmes. IIT Hyderabad offers MTech courses in eight departments where as Executive MTech. in Data Science is offered by Computer Science and Engineering. The closing date for submission of online application for both these programmes is last date for submitting application 08 May 2017(4:00PM IST).

MTech programmes are offered by the following departments of IIT Hyderabad: BioMedical Engineering, BioTechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering , Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.  Admission to MTech programmes will be based on the GATE score. MTech admissions to IIT Graduates without GATE score will be based on interviews. Marks/CGPA at the qualifying degree and any additional requirements will be as per IIT-Hyderabad norms. Executive MTech in Data Science (EMDS):  The department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Hyderabad has launched a new MTech program, Executive MTech in Data Science, exclusively for industry professionals from academic year 2015-2016 (i.e., August 2015). The program is self-paced so that candidates can have flexibility in completing the program in 2-4 years. It can be taken at IIT Hyderabad campus or remotely through video-enabled online courses. Nonetheless, periodic visits to IIT Hyderabad , possibly on weekends, may be required.

The duration of EMDS is two to four years. The intake capacity for this progragramme is 35.

Eligibility Conditions for EMDS: The candidates must have a minimum work experience of two years in industry and be employed at the time of applying. The candidate must have a BTech/BE/AMIE degree in CS/EE/IT/ECE, or MCA, a MSc/MS degree in CS/IT/Maths/Stat, and have an excellent academic record.

For candidates from other branches, they must have passed GATE exam in Computer Science with more than 80 percentile mark.
