New Delhi: Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET 2018) notification is out. Online application has opened from 19 February 2018. CUCET is all-India test is being organized by ten Central Universities and the Bengaluru Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics for admission to various Integrated/ Under-graduate, Post-graduate and Research Programmes in these Universities/Institutes.

Nearly one lakh candidates register for the test. Here, Here, SkillOutlook presents 10 key points of CUCET 2017, which may help candidates to understand its process and its features.

1.Participating Institutes: There are Ten Central Universities of Haryana, Jammu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Panjab and South Bihar participating in CUCET 2018 along with the Bengaluru Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics.

2.Programmes:  CUCET provides a single window opportunity to the students to seek admission in ten central universities across the country. UG / Integrated Program / B.Voc., Post Graduate Program and the Research Program (MPhil/PhD) aspirant students can apply CUCET 2018 for getting admission to these CUs. Further, students planning to pursue courses in MTech, BEd,MEd, MPharma, and PG Diploma in these CUs, have to appear the common test, CUCET.

For getting admission to any master degree programme in any of these CUs, aspirant has to apply CUCET 2017 and qualify the test. This similar process is also followed in other degree programmes also.

3.Eligibility Conditions: Interested candidates should check the eligibility criteria thoroughly before applying for the programme, because, different universities have different eligibility criteria for similar courses. Candidates need to pay attention that the eligibility criteria of each participating university for a given programme may differ with other university. 4.Application Fee: The application fee for General/ OBC Candidates is Rs. 800/- . For SC/ST candidates,  the application fee is Rs. 350/- . PWD Candidates Nil.

5.One can apply multiple programmes/Participating Universities: A candidate can apply for up to 03 PUs by paying application fee as mention above. One can select up to three programs in each PU.  The Students can further apply for additional 03 PU’s (03 programmes each) by availing Add-on facility and paying additional fee Rs. 800/- (Gen/OBC Candidates) or Rs. 350/- (SC/ST Candidates).

6.Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam can apply CUCET 2018: In the official notification of CUCET 2018 it is clearly mentioned that the candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply for CUCET 2018, but at the time of admission counselling, he/she will have to produce the mark sheet/degree about their fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

7.CUCET 2018 Exam Pattern: All Question Papers will be MCQ based consisting of two parts: Part A & Part B.

Part A : Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude and analytical skills – comprising of 25 MCQs

(ii) Part B: Domain Knowledge – comprising of 75 MCQs.  This part may consist of three/four/five sections. Each section will have 25 questions. A candidate is required to answer a set of any three sections (75 questions). However, he/she must ensure that he/she fills right circles in the OMR Sheet corresponding to the question numbers attended.

(iii) For Admission to some Integrated Programme/MBA/ /LLB/ or any other general Programme, only one paper comprising of 100 MCQs covering English language, reasoning, data interpretations/numerical ability, general awareness and analytical skills will be held.

(iv) The candidate will have to choose one correct answer and mark on OMR Sheet.

(v) Each paper will be only of Two Hours Duration.

(vi) There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer there will be deduction of 0.25 marks.

8.Final Admission and Counseling Process: Admissions are handled at the level of each of these Central Universities and BASE, for their respective programs. After the declaration of the CUCET results, the respective Central Universities and BASE will declare the counselling/admission schedule and merit list based on the weightage on CUCET-2018 score and the other criteria of PUs. 9.Date of Examinations and Results Date: The dates of examination are 28th & 29th April 2018. The results will be declared on 25 May 2018.

10. Exam Centres: CUCET 2018 will be held in 78 cities across India. Central University of Rajasthan is the organizing university for CUCET 2018.
