Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will organize Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2019. More than nine lakhs engineering candidates appear the national level competitive test.
IIT Guwahati was the organizing institute of GATE 2018 meanwhile IIT Roorkee was the organizing institute for GATE 2017. IIT Madras was the organizing institute for GATE in 2011.
For GATE 2019, the official notification is expected to be released in August 2018. Application Registration process is likely commence in the first week of September 2018.
Historically nearly 15-17% candidates qualify the test.
GATE 2018 Online Examination was held on February 03- 04 & February 10- 11, 2018 (Saturdays & Sundays). GATE 2018 was held in 23 papers.
GATE is a bench mark tests for engineering and science aptitude in facilitating admissions for higher education (MTech/PhD) in IITs, IISc and various other Institutes/ Universities/ Laboratories in India.
Over the last few years, GATE score is also being used as one of the criteria for recruitment in Government Organizations such as Cabinet Secretariat, and National/State Public Sector Undertakings in India. Because of the importance of the GATE examination, the number of candidates appearing in GATE exams has increased tremendously.
