Vadodara: Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Vadodara has invited applications from eligible candidates for MTech & PhD programmes Autumn 2017-18. PhD programmes are offered in the following subjects: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Physics/Material Science/Engineering Physics/Nanoscience & Nanotechnology/Electronics, Mathematics/Statistics, Humanities & Social Sciences (Linguistics, English). MTech programme is offered in Computer Science & Engineering subject with various specialization areas.
Online application window has opened on form 28 March 2017. Online application deadline is 17 April 2017. Signed PDF along with DD should reach IIIT Vadodara on or before 24 April 2017. Both MTech and PhD programmes will commence Academic session for Autumn 2017-18 form 31 July 2017.
Eligibility Conditions for MTech (Computer Science & Engineering)
Minimum Qualification: BTech/BE in CS, IT, EC and related areas or MSc in CS/IT/STAT/MATH
The aggregate marks in the qualifying degree should not be less than 60% or equivalent as per the norm set by the degree awarding institute/university.
Essential: GATE – Computer Science/Electronics Communication Engineering

Engineering
MTech/ME in CS/IT/ECE or related areas

MSc Applied Mathematics/Computer Science and related areas, Exceptional candidates with BE/BTech in relevant areas can also be considered

MTech Material Science/Nano-Technology/Applied Optics/Engineering Physics/Scientific Computing, MSc in Mathematics/Physics/Statistics/Electronics/Computer Science and related areas.

IIIT Vadodara informed that the candidates appearing for the final semester/year examinations of the qualifying degree in 2017 may also apply to the respective programmes. The admission is subject to the condition that, if admitted, they should submit a provisional degree certificate or any other proof of completion of requirements for the award of the degree by 29th September 2017.
Humanities: MA/M.Phil in Linguistics/ English and related areas.

Admission Process: Short listing process will be done based on Academic records (minimum 55% or CPI of 6 on a scale of 10). GATE scores, CSIR/UGC NET qualifications are optional. Shortlisted candidate will be called for written exam followed by personal interview.
Financial Assistance: For MTech scholars, teaching assistantship of INR 12,500 (per month) is available. For PhD Scholars, Teaching/Research Assistantship of INR 20,000 (per month) upgraded to INR 25,000 after clearing the comprehensive examination. Students with CSIR JRF qualified may avail the scholarship.
