The workshop will be led by Professor Vishanth Weerakkody, who is the Associate Dean at the University’s Faculty of Management and Law. It will focus on the need for leadership skills in a world that is moving forward at such a great pace and will emphasize on how leadership should be a part of the training modules of all educational institutions and should be promoted in organizations via professional development activities.

The workshop would also help them in recognizing the potential that disruptive technologies possess and assess the impact that they may have on leaders and their organizations.

As per Professor Weerakkody, “Becoming a successful leader in the age of digital era is not a straight forward journey, no matter your background. It demands the ability to spearhead transformative change that disrupts established organisational norms and culture and personal traits that can inspire others to share your common vision. This workshop is designed for those in, or aspiring to, a leadership position and will allow the participants to reflect on key themes they need to recognise when leading organisations in the age of digital era.” During this session, Professor Weerakkody will help the participants understand how to nurture innovative thinking and behaviour, and the management of outcomes rather than resources.

The workshop will be a part of the ‘India Engagement Symposium’, which is being organized by University of Bradford in order to initiate a dialogue with influencers of students from the National Capital about the key offerings of University of Bradford and why Indian students should opt for it. The event will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. All the participants of the ‘Leadership in the Age of Digital Era’ workshop will receive a Certificate of Participation at the end of the session.

Professor Vishanth Weerakkody says, “Leading private sector organisations and governments across the world are already exploiting disruptive technologies such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Block Chain to out-innovate and out-execute established standards and outperform their competition. This workshop is a small step by University of Bradford make the leaders of the Indian education industry appreciate the arguments and counter arguments for and against disruptive technologies and find answers to burning questions such as “will I be left behind if I don’t embrace disruptive technologies.”
