Get JEE exam prep courses taught by IIT faculty at zero cost as IIT-PAL channels launched

New Delhi: IIT-PAL channels under the SWAYAM Prabha DTH Channels are ready.  To reduce the influence of coaching centres, the HRD ministry has launched five IIT-Pal channels which are supposed to start providing JEE lectures. Through these channels, aspirants may be able to get coaching resource materials in video form and lectures format to face the fiercely competitive JEE entrance examination for these prestigious institutes.

There are four channels under IIT-PAL DTH packages: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.  IIT-PAL is a part of 32 SWAYAM Prabha DTH Channels. Swayam Prabha DTH Channel project was launched yesterday by the President of India, Mr Pranab Mukherjee.

The SWAYAM Prabha is conceived as a group of 32 DTH channels devoted to telecasting of high-quality educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the GSAT-15 satellite. Every day, there will be new content for at least (4) hours which would be repeated 5 more times in a day, allowing the students to choose the time of their convenience. The channels are uplinked from BISAG, Gandhinagar. The contents are provided by NPTEL, IITs, UGC, CEC, IGNOU, NCERT and NIOS. The INFLIBNET Centre maintains the web portal.

The SWAYAM Prabha channels are available for free for anyone who has a set top box to receive either DD Free Dish or DishTV. There is no monthly charge for viewing these channels. These channels include the IIT-PAL channels which were intended to help students taking the prestigious JEE examination, taught by the IIT faculty.

The various DTH operators are asked to provide these channels Free to Air to viewers.

IIT-PAL channels via SWAYAM Prabha DTH  project will immensely help students who cannot afford coaching classes as IIT-JEE exam course materials and lectures are designed by IIT faculty members.  Further, these channels will assist students (class 11th & 12th) prepare for competitive exams.
