New Delhi: With growing number of cancer patients in India, the Ministry of AYUSH has decided to set up a Cancer Research Institute in Ayurveda in Bhandup (East), Mumbai in coordination with Tata Cancer Hospital. Ministry of Urban Development (i.e, the parent Ministry of CPWD) has agreed to transfer a plot of land measuring 2.8 acres at Bhandup (E), Mumbai in favour of Ministry of AYUSH for construction of building of Central Ayurveda Research Institute for Cancer.

The Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Mr ShripadYesso Naik informed this in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today (16 December 2016).

The treatment of cancer via Ayurveda practices would be affordable and accessible to all class of patients.
