Mumbai: Considering employment opportunities and technological innovations, demand for higher education in computer science and engineering (CSE) is growing among student community. There are many engineering & technological institutes and universities are offering higher degree courses including BTech, MTech and PhD in Computer Science.
Quacquarelli Symonds, QS, global higher education ranking agency, recently released the World University Rankings by Subjects. Among the 46 subjects, Computer Science is one of these subjects, QS has insured rankings among global universities. In Computer Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is rated as the best university in the world. Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University have stood second and third, respectively at global levels.
In India, in computer science subject, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay ranked as the top institute. In fact IIT Bombay is the most dream destination for top rank holders of JEE Advanced exam. Meanwhile, In India IIT Delhi and IIT Madras have secured second and third positions in the computer science subject. IISc Bangalore features at fourth place while IIT Kanpur finds fifth position.
The other top ten institutes in India as per QS World University Rankings by Subjects 2017 are as followed: IIT Kharagpur (sixth), IIT Roorkee (seventh), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata (eighth), Anna University (ninth), and IIT Guwahati (tenth).
The seventh edition of QS Quacquarelli Symonds’s analysis of subject-specific university performance lists the world’s best universities for the study of 46 different subjects. QS’s subject tables were viewed more than thirty million times throughout 2016.
