New Delhi: More than 15.4 lakh candidates appeared the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE), 2017 (Tier-I). The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has successfully conducted the test  from  5 August 2017 to 23 August 2017. The SSC said that out of 30.26 lakh candidates who have registered to appear the test, a total of 15,43 lakh, more than 50%, candidates actually appeared this examination.

The Commission informed that it will upload the tentative answer keys for inviting challenges from the candidates on 18 September 2017. The national level competitive examination was conducted in 43 Batches across the country.

Last year the commission received over 38 lakh applications and this year the applications have seen a drop by over 8 lakh. For Combined Graduate Level  Examination 2015, more than 23.7 Lakh candidates applied for the test.

The Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) is very popular job selection test for central government job aspirants in India. CGLE Tier I is held for selecting candidates for Tier-II examination for filling up different categories of posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations of Government of India.
