Mumbai: Department of Atomic Energy (DoAE) has invited applications for recruitment of Trainee Scientific Officers (TSO) through Babha Atomic Research Centre Training Schools for the academic year 2018-19. After successful completion of the training programme, they will be absorbed as Scientific Officer in a Group A post of the Government of India. The recruitment will be carried out under two schemes: OCES 2018 (Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Graduates) and DGFS 2018 (DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Post Graduates).

Eligibility:  A minimum of 60% aggregate mark is required in the qualifying degree. Science post-graduates are further required to have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate mark in BSc also.

The eligible engineering disciplines are as followed: BE / BTech/ BSc (Engg)/ 5- year Integrated in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical/Materials/, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Instrumentation, Civil, Nuclear Engineering/Nuclear Technology/ Nuclear Science & Technology.

(a) The eligible science disciplines are given below: MSc in Physics, Chemistry, Biosciences, Geophysics, Applied Geophysics.

(b) MSc/Equivalent MTech in Geology, Applied Geology, Applied Geochemistry, 5-Year Integrated MTech in Geological Technology, Geophysical Technology

(c) BE/BTech in Engineering Physics or BE/BTech/BSc (Tech) in Food Technology.

Key Dates: The online application begins from 01 January 2018. The application portal ends on 04 February 2018. The online examination will be held during 28 March 2018 – 3 April 2018. The closing date for uploading GATE Score is 2 April 2018.

Selection Process: As per the Recruitment Notification, the selection to OCES / DGFS – 2018 is a two-step process. The first screening will be done based on the valid GATE 2017/GATE 2018 score card in the applicable discipline or the Online Test to be conducted by BARC in March 2018. In the second step, the short-listed candidates should be called for Interviews to be held in Mumbai and Hyderabad during May-June 2018. Final selection is solely on the basis of performance in Selection Interview.
