Mumbai: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is one of the toughest competitive examinations in India. More than nine lakh graduate engineering students appear the test each year. Over the last few years, GATE score is also being used as one of the criteria for recruitment in Government Organizations such as Cabinet Secretariat, and National/State Public Sector Undertakings in India.
Nearly more than 40 PSUs (both Nation & State) used GATE results of 2017 for hiring graduate engineers. For GATE 2018, as of now more than 16 PSUs or government organizations have already released short notification for their hiring plan through 2018.
The prominent among these PSUs are as followed: ONGC, NIPCIL, NTPC, SAIL, BPCL, IndianOil, and others. Last year ONGC has hired more than 750 Graduate Trainees in Engineer & Geo-Sciences through GATE 2017.
