Mumbai: Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai has notified to recruit Assistant Professors with specialization in: macroeconomics, international economics, energy/environment economics, finance, and economic issues of developing countries — with specific interests in industry, agriculture, international trade, and labour markets, econometrics and microeconomics.
IGIDR is a premier research and teaching institution set up by the Reserve Bank of India, for the study of national and international development issues from an economic perspective. The Institute, a deemed university, offers MSc degree in Economics, and MPhil and PhD degrees in Development Studies.
Eligibility: One should have a PhD, with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout, with excellent publications, and must possess at least three years of research/teaching experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing PhD. A fresh PhD with less than the requisite experience may be considered for visiting appointment on a contractual basis, in PB3.
The recruitment notice mentioned that it is a rolling advertisement and interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the position throughout the year. The recruitment committee will meet periodically to review the applications and arrange for seminars, as per the needs of the institute.
