New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) invites job applications from eligible and qualified persons for the post of Scientist-‘B’ and Scientific/Technical Assistant ‘A’ in National Informatics Centre (NIC).  There are 81 vacant posts for Scientist-‘B’ (GROUP –A) and 259 vacant posts for Scientific/Technical Assistant ‘A’ (GROUP-B).

The online application window will open from 28 July 2017. The online application window will close on 28 August 2017. The application fee for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates is nill. The application fee for general and other candidates is Rs 800/-.

Eligibility Conditions for Scientist-B (GROUP –A):

Upper Age: Upto 30 Years as on closing date of application. Age relaxation is available as per Govt Rules.

Education:  A candidate should possess one of the Essential Educational Qualifications as given below the Table given below, with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or First Class from a University/Institution established under either Central or State or UGC Act and requisite experience if applicable, complete in all respects, by last date of receipt of applications (closing date i.e 28/08/2017).

BE/ B.Tech. in Computer Science or Computer Engg

OR

BE/ B.Tech. in Information Technology

OR

BE/ B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication

OR

BE/ B.Tech. in Electronics & Telecommunication OR M.Sc. (Physics) with one year of relevant experience

OR

  1. Sc. (Electronics /Applied Electronics) with one year of relevant experience

Selection Process:  Written followed by Interview.

Eligibility Conditions for Scientific/Technical Assistant A GROUP-B:

Education: A candidate should possess one of the Essential Educational Qualifications as given below the Table given below, with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or First Class from a University/Institution established under either Central or State or UGC Act and requisite experience if applicable, complete in all respects, by last date of receipt of applications (closing date i.e 28/08/2017).

M.Sc./MS/MCA/B.E/B.Tech in any one or in combination of below mentioned fields: Field (Single/Combination) : Physics, Electronics, Applied Electronics, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer and networking security, Software System, Information Technology, Management, Informatics, Computer Management, Bio-informatics, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System(GIS), Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computational linguistics, Information Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Design

Selection Process: Written Test Only.

Scheme of written examination for Both Posts:

The Written Examination shall be Objective type and OMR based.

There will be total of 120 objective type Questions consisting of 60 questions from Computer Science and 60 questions on Generic Area. The Generic Area will comprise of Logical, Analytical Reasoning Capabilities, Quantitative and Qualitative abilities and General Awareness and Aptitude.

Every Question will carry 1 (one) mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.

The minimum percentage to qualify the written examination will be 50% for General, 40% for OBC and 30% for the SC/ST categories.
