OPSC releases Odisha Civil Services Exam 2017 (Prelim) ; Find Key dates, Exam pattern & Vacancy details

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released official notification for the preliminary examination for Odisha Civil Services 2017.  The online application portal will open from 30 November 2017. The eligible candidates can apply on or before 12 December 2017. The closing date for payment of examination fee for the preliminary examination is 16 December 2017.

As per the Recruitment Notification, the Prelim exam is scheduled to be held on 24 December 2017 (Sunday). The total number of vacancies are a total of 106 (Odisha Civil Services 2017 Category I and Category II).

OPSC Vacancy Details:

Category 1

Odisha Administrative Service, Group-A (Junior Branch) – 36 posts

Odisha Police Service, Group-A (Junior Branch) – 09 posts

Odisha Finance Service, Group-A (Junior Branch) -24 posts

Category 2

Odisha Cooperative Service, (Group-B) – 03 posts

Odisha Revenue Service, Group-B -20  posts

Odisha Taxation and Accounts Service, Group –B – 14  posts

Application Fees: The application fee is Rs 300  /- . However, candidates belonging to SC/ST and persons with more than 40 per cent disability are exempted from the payment of the fee.

Eligibility Condtions:

Age: A candidate must be under 32 years of age and over 21 years of age as on 01 January 2017 – not born earlier than 2 January 1985 AND later than 1 January  1996. Age relaxation is there as per the govt. norms.

Education: Candidates applying for these posts must possess a Bachelor’s Degree.

There are some other eligibility criteria like ability to read, write, and speak Odia language. For exact eligibility conditions, candidates should refer the Recruitment Notification of OPSC.

Exam Pattern:  The prelim exam will be consists of two papers of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).

(a) General Studies – Paper 1 – 200 marks

(b) General Studies – paper 2 – 200 Marks
