Gandhinagar: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar has invited applications for its Start Early PhD Fellowship programmes. This full-time residential fellowship is designed to enable budding engineers to gain early entry into the PhD programmes at IIT Gandhinagar. After completion of this programme, BTech degree holders can earn PhD degree directly. Application portal is currently open for admission to the Start Early Ph.D. programme beginning in July 2018.
Currently, IIT Gandhinagar offers PhD programmes in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering, History, Language & Literature, Materials Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Social Epidemiology and Sociology.
Eligibility for Start Early PhD Fellowship programme July 2018:
BTech students (Class of 2018) from NITs and other select colleges, who are among the top five rank holders in the department at the end of their third year (One may check with HOD/Director of your college to see if the candidate’ss college is included in the list of select colleges. One may also contact the institute at [email protected] to check the eligibility).
BTech students (Class of 2018) from IITs with a CPI/CGPA of not less than 6.0 at the end of their third year
No GATE qualification requirement
Fellowship: The PhD candidates will get Rs. 35,000/- per month (with valid GATE score) while Rs. 25,000/- per month (without GATE score).
Key Dates: Application form submission deadline is 29 September 2017. There is no application fee. The Written Test and/or Interview is scheduled in October 2017. The joining date for the programme is July 2018.
How to Apply: IIT Gandhinagar informed that application portal is currently open for admission to the Start Early PhD programme beginning in July 2018. Final year B.Tech. students (graduating in 2018) from select institutes are eligible to apply and all applications must be submitted online.
