New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed through a revised notification that the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Eligibility for Assistant Professor will be held  05 November, 2017 (Sunday).  Earlier, the CBSE had notified that UGC NET would be held on 19 Nov 2017.

Further, the revised notification stated that the candidates who desire to appear in the test may see the detailed notification available on the website http://cbsenet.nic.in  from 24th July, 2017. The candidates are required to apply online from 01 August 2017. The last date for applying online is 30 August 2017 and fee can be paid up to 31 August, 2017.

As per normal practices, UGC NET exams are held twice a year: December-January and June-July. However, this year the UGC-NET exam will not be held in July 2017. Many students and aspirants expressed their resentment over the delay in conducting the test.

CBSE conducts the National Eligibility Test (for determining the eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Assistant Professor/ JRF), on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

On the previous occasion, the UGC NET examination was conducted successfully on 22 January 2017 for approximately 7.94 lakh registered candidates. The exam was conducted in 90 cities at 1421 exam centres.
