Chennai: Alagappa University, a state public university based in Karaikudi (Tamil Nadu), has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to PhD progarmmes for the current session. The PhD progarmmes are available in 36 subjects/streams in following faculties: Arts, Science, Management and Education.
Key Dates: Online Application for PhD Entrance Programme has commenced from 11 July 2017. The last date for receipt of filled in application is 10 August 2017 (05:00 PM). The PhD written test will be held on 27 August 2017 (10.00 am – 01.00 PM) while Interview is scheduled to be held on 27 August 2017 (02.00 PM). The application fee is Rs 500/- .
Eligibility Conditions (Min mark in the Qualifying Degree):
Candidates who have passed through 10+2+3+2/11+1+3+2/10+3+2+2 pattern alone can apply
50 % of marks for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) / Person with Disablity
55 % of marks for all Other Candidates
M.Ed.(Education / Spl Education)/M.A. Education is essential for Ph.D. in Education
Alagappa University informed through the PhD Entrance notification that NET/SET/GATE candidates are exempted from entrance examination & interview. Candidates who are in the final year / semester of their P.G. Degree may also apply for the Pre-Registration Qualifying Entrance Examination for Ph.D. Program. However the pass certificates will be issued only on production of attested copy of Cumulative Mark Statement ensuring minimum eligible percentage of marks in PG Degree.
