Patiala: Thapar University, a leading private university in India, has invited online applications for UG, PG and PhD programs. For PhD programmes, the closing date for submission of application is 30 June 2017. The university offers PhD programme in almost all specializations of Engineering, Technology, Management and Sciences in the following Departments/Schools of the University. Currently around 713 PhD candidates are working for their PhD degrees in the University.

The following departments and schools offer PhD programmes:  Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Schools School of Physics & Materials Science, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Mathematics, School of Energy and Environment, School of Chemistry & Biochemistry, and LMT School of Management.

 How to apply: The online application form is available on www.thapar.edu . The candidates should fill the complete details and then take the print out of the form. They should keep one copy of the printout of completely filled form as it will be required at the time of document checking during counselling.

Teaching Associateship are allocated to each Department/School depending upon their requirement. 50 Teaching Associateships shall be given every year to regular PhD students after the completion of the course work. At any stage, maximum 200 Teaching Associateships shall be given to all the PhD students on roll. Teaching Associateships shall be given only to GATE/NET (UGC/CSIR) qualified students. Teaching Associateships shall be awarded for a maximum period of 3-years subject to review of performance at the end of every year.

Emoluments for Teaching Associateship will be Rs 25,000/- for GATE/NET(UGC/CSIR) qualified candidates. In addition to this, GATE/NET(UGC/CSIR) qualified candidates may also be given half tuition fee waiver.
