Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, a Central University, is inviting applications for PhD Programmes.
PhD Programmes are available in the following subjects: Urdu, English, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Translation Studies; Women Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Work, Islamic Studies, History, Economics, Sociology; Education; Journalism & Mass Communication; Management, Commerce, Mathematics, Zoology, and Computer Science.
Qualifications: Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. programs shall have a Master’s degree in the concerned subject or an allied subject (as notified by the Department/Center concerned) with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale in case of grading system.
Financial Assistance to research scholars: The University provides the UGC scholarship of Rs. 8000/- p.m. for regular PhD Research Scholars. Apart from this Rs. 8000/- will be given as contingency amount per annum. These scholarships are provided 36 months for regular PhD scholars only. These Scholarships are awarded to those Scholars who have 75% attendance and follow the rules/regulations of the University. All financial assistance will depend on the UGC and University rules and the availability of funds.
Entrance Test: The University shall admit candidates to Ph.D. Program through a two stage process, an entrance test and an Interview. The duration of the written test shall be two hours.
A candidate must secure at least 50% marks in the written test and also 50% marks in the interview to qualify for the admission to PhD program.
Entrance Test Exemption for admission to research programs: Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR-JRF/NET/ valid GATE score/SLET/ teacher fellowship holder or have been awarded MPhil. Degree in concerned subject are exempted from written test.
Key Dates: The last date for submission of Online Application is 26 March 2018 for programmes.
