31 July 2018, New Delhi: The result of 7th UGC NET Examination has been declared by CBSE. The result has been declared in record time. The 7th UGC NET examination was conducted by CBSE on 08 July 2018 across 91 cities in the country. The examination was conducted in 84 different subjects. A total number of 11,48,235 candidates registered for this examination. The number was the largest among the past examinations of UGC NET.

There were 2082 examination centres across the country. A total number of 2864 observers and 675 Board’s officials were deputed at these centres to oversee the smooth and fair conduct of examination.

Result at a glance

Number of candidates registered – Nearly 11.50 Lakh

Number of candidates appeared in both papers – 8.60 Lakh

Number of candidates qualified for eligibility for assistant professor (this includes candidates qualified for JRF also) – 55,872

Candidates qualified for JRF & eligible for assistant professor both – 3,929

This time there was a change in the exam pattern to reduce the burden on examinees. Instead of 3 papers, there were 2 papers (Paper I & Paper II)

In order to facilitate quick employment of eligible candidates, the result has been declared in record time of 3 weeks. The exam was conducted on 8th July, 2018 and result has been declared on 31st July, 2018.

In order to make the examination system transparent, the O.M.R. sheets images and captured data was displayed for the verification by examinees.

To ensure accuracy of result, the keys of question papers were displayed in advance to invite challenges if any.

As per the UGC policy, 6% of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of both papers are declared NET qualified. The certificates to the qualified candidates will be issued by UGC.
