Kolkata: University of Calcutta has invited applications from eligible candidates for PhD Programme in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology for the year 2017. The university informed that there are 31 PhD seats available in its Centre for Research in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology for the current academic year.
The eligible Physical Science, Chemical Science and Life/Bio Science post graduate students can apply for the PhD programmes. The relevant application form can be downloaded from http://www.caluniv.ac.in.
Key Dates: The closing date for submission of application is 11 August 2017. The date of Admission Test is 16 August 2017. The date for Interviews is 23 August 2017. The venue for the written test & Interview is Centre for Research in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology. The application fee is Rs 100 /-.
Selection Process: The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ test of one hour duration. Candidates who qualify the written test will have to face an interview for final selection. An overall knowledge on all branches of Science and Technology is the prime requirement for the admission test.
Eligibility Conditions: The eligibility requirement is as per the UGC guidelines.
Exempted Category for Entrance Test: Candidates who have MTech / MPhil / MD/ ME/ MPharm or equivalent examination or cleared NET/GATE/SLET/SET/JEST or equivalent examination are not required to appear in the admission test but would need to appear for the interview. However, all interested candidates have to apply in the prescribed proforma within the date mentioned above.
