New Delhi: Backstage Pass alumni Asar Dhandala and Satish Chandra Yerramsetti created history when their Avion Flight Simulator crossed 5 million downloads on Google Play. The game currently occupies the third position among similar games in the world on Google Play. It took the game less than two years to reach the third position.
In less than two years since its release on 2 August 2015, the game has topped the charts. Published both on Google Play and Windows Apps store, the game is appreciated by many aircraft lovers. It also proves the effectiveness of the ecosystem, including the academic rigour, at Backstage Pass Institute of Gaming and Technology as well as India’s growing prowess in game development.
The young creators are happy to see Avion reach a major milestone. Asar said, “I felt ecstatic and satisfied that the game has appealed to 5M people worldwide. It was followed by a brief sense of responsibility for Avion 2017.” Satish Chandra Yerramsetti added, “It was an important milestone for us. I look forward to making more games and cross many more milestones.”
Surya P, founder of Backstage Pass said, “It is a proud moment for all of us at Backstage Pass. First things first: I am happy for Asar and Satish. They have built many games earlier. It goes to prove that entrepreneurs need to fail fast so that they can create a winner. Also, the aspiring student entrepreneurs at Backstage Pass and across the country can rally around the achievement and look forward to bettering it.”
