Mumbai:  Music therapy is a research-based practice and profession in which music is used to actively support people as they strive to improve their health, functioning and wellbeing.

The purpose of this program is to create a functional competence in the participating group in three forms of Music as a Therapy using the Receptive, Active and Participative ( R.A.P.) Methodology.

History is full of evidence on how Music and Sound have been an critical to a society, from the first cry of a baby signalling life, to the ways in which the continuity of cultural practices have been preserved through rhymes, hymns, ballads, poetry, song and dance.

Be it the Vedic or Gregorian Chants sound and vibrations are known universally to have a healing effect on the body.

A deliberate and directed  attempt to introduce Melody to bring back into balance a body that is either in Dis-Harmony, Dis-Chord or Dis-Ease, is the key learning outcome sought of the program.

Community Music – Focus Groups, Activities, Song Writing, Story Telling
