New Delhi:  Learning & Development (L&D), Global’s New Delhi chapter successfully organized its 7th Chapter meeting on 9th July 2016 at DMA Hall New Delhi. In the Chapter meeting, a panel discussion on “Diversity & Inclusion – Role of HR for higher productivity and Innovation” and a key note address on “Building better leaders with Emotional Intelligence” were organized.

 On the Diversity & Inclusion – Role of HR for higher productivity and Innovation panel discussion, Ms. Suman Sharma from Bose International, Mr. Himanshu Miglani from Escorts, and Mr. Harpreet Singh from Insurance vertical were panelists while the discussion was moderated Mr. Amit Jindal. Panelists highlighted the types of diversity they have identified at the workplace: workforce, structural , behavioural, and demography. Experts also shared their strategies for managing diversity through education, learning & development, and OD interventions. The panelists mentioned that survey results have also shown that a diverse workforce fosters innovation and increases productivity in the organizations. In a nutshell experts agreed that diverse workforce harvests new ideas at the workplace.

Dr. Roma Kumar (PhD) and psychologist by profession delivered the key note address on “Building better leaders with Emotional Intelligence”.  She very nicely summarised that emotional intelligence is ability to understand emotions of self through having high self – awareness and self regulations and understanding the emotions of others through social awareness and social regulations.  These skills lead to improved inter-personal relations with colleagues at the workplace and with family members in the personal family life. This is session was highly appreciated by the participants.

The program was attended by many senior L & D professionals from Delhi, NCR, and Chandigarh. The program was started with introduction by each member, followed by Mr. Surya Mahapatra’s brief video about the objectives of the group.

L&D Global is a world-wide network of Learning and Development Practitioners. The network has over 30,000 members across industries, counties and cultures. The Network was founded by Mr. Surya Prakash Mohapatra, a senior Industry Thought Leader in the HR space.
