Bhubaneswar: Great innovation and disruption in the mobility industry is on the cards.  The companies in this domain need to keep an eye on the future, whilst simultaneously looking to develop and refine their existing products and offerings. Mr. Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder and CEO, Olacabs.com commented these while interacting with students of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) yesterday (28 September 2016).

He also added that there needs to be a risk-taking and experimental approach from players in the mobility industry because the country needs more innovators and problem solvers who can create value for the society at large. Speaking about Olacabs.com, he said that one of their greatest strengths is that they always try to understand what consumers want and work backwards from there to fulfil those needs. This is exemplified in their mission – to ‘Build mobility for a billion Indians.’

Mr. Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Skill Development Authority, Govt. of Odisha also interacted with the students of XIMB. Mr. Bagchi said highlighted the importance of entrepreneurs seeking to create and deliver value, instead of overly focusing on valuation. Businesses should strive to make the world a better place: “Businesses can’t succeed if societies fail.”

The occasion was also graced by Mr. Srikumar Misra, Founder-CEO at Milk Mantra and an alumnus of XIMB.  The welcome address of the event was addressed by Fr. Paul Fernandes, S.J, Vice Chancellor, Xavier University.
