Kharagpur: Department of Mining Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur presents GREAT STEP 2016, on 30 September – 02 October 2016, a techno-management fest for mining students across India. Various thematic events on different aspects of Mining & Geology have been lined up: National Mining Innovation Challenge, Petro Case Study, Mineo Case Study, Enviro Case Study, Sarvekshan, MineIndite, Quiz Spiel, and many more.
National Mining Innovation Challenge is the flagship event of GREAT STEP 2016. In this contest, Undergraduate or postgraduate students in a recognized institute have to submit innovative idea/model which can be implemented in Mining and Allied Industry. They have to present the innovative idea via paper or model presentation during event. The Abstract Submission deadline for this challenge is today (26 September 16, Midnight).
Quiz Spiel, the online quiz event has already started from yesterday (25 September 2016). Abstract submission deadline for Petro Case Study, Mineo Case Study, Enviro Case Study, Sarvekshan is today (26 September 2016, Midnight).
Prizes are lined up for first, second and third positions of each category. With the vision as the developments in the Mining and Geology industries, the Department of Mining engineering initiated GREATSTEP in 2008 to create a common platform for young talents.
The last eight editions of GREATSTEP were filled with mind churning challenges, informative guest lectures and workshops. GREATSTEP 2016 is all set with new and exalted levels of enthusiasm to march ahead as the flag bearer to its legacy in all aspects.
