Mumbai: The Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union, invites job applications from young and dynamic Indian candidates for various branches as an Assistant Commandant (Group A Gazetted Officers). The submission of online application has commenced today (24 November) for GD/TECH Branches while the application window will close on 10 December 2016. For Law Branch, applications will be accepted from 14 December 2016 to 18 December 2016.

The various posts available under the recruitment drive of Indian Cost Guard are as followed: Asst Commandant General Duty, Asst. Commandant General Duty (Pilot), Asst. Commandant Technical (Electrical/Electronics), Asst. Commandant Technical (Mechanical/Aeronautical), Asst. Commandant General Duty (Law), and Asst. Commandant (Commercial Pilot License-SSA).

Should hold a Bachelor’s degree of recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (ie. 1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree Candidates wherever applicable). Mathematics and Physics as subjects & up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate marks in Maths & Physics [Candidates not in possession of Physics & Maths in 10 + 2 (Intermediate) level or equivalent are not eligible for General Duty (GD) & General Duty (Pilot)].

Technical branch (Mechanical and Electrical)  

(i) Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or Should have passed Sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in any of the discipline listed below with 60% marks. (a) Engineering Branch Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace.  (b) Electrical Branch Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engg. or Power Electronics. All the above streams of Engg. must be recognised by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). (ii) At least 60% marks in aggregate in Physics and Maths in 12th class. or Three year diploma course with an aggregate of 60%

12th class pass with 60% marks in aggregate and should possess current / valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued/validated by DGCA on the date of submission of application.

Note. (i) The upper age limit of OBC/SC/ST is relaxable as per Govt. of India rules in vogue.
(ii) Maximum 5% relaxation in aggregate in the degree certificate for SC/ ST candidates, NCC ‘C’ certificate ( ‘A’ grade) holders, Sports person of National level (Inter State & above) and Wards of Coast Guard uniform personnel deceased while in service. No relaxation for 12th class marks.
(iii) Coast Guard reserves the right to fix the cut off percentage for issue of PSB call up letters.

Key Dates: As per the recruitment notification of Indian Coast Guard – ASSISTANT COMMANDANT 02/2017 BATCH,  applications will be accepted only Online from 24 Nov 16 to 10 Dec 16 till 1700 hrs for GD/Tech Branches. For Law Branch, online applications will be received from 14 Dec to 18 Dec 16 till 1700 hrs.
