New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), who is conducting UGC-NET Exam, has extended the last date for applying online application for UGC-NET January 2017 upto 23 November, 2016. Also the last date of submission of fee has been extended upto 24 November 2016 through E-Challan/Debit/Credit Card at designated Branches of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank.

Further, the facility for correction in the data (particulars) will be operational on the website cbsenet.nic.in from 28 November to 3 December, 2016.  This step may have been taken by the CBSE as the ongoing public rush is happening at the bank counters/branches due to currency stalemate and demonetization. Hence, desirous candidates will get sufficient time to submit their applications for UGC-NET Jan 2017.

Earlier, the closing date for submission of application was today (16 November 2016) while last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan was 17 Nov 2016. The correction in particulars of application form on the website was earlier scheduled to done from 22 Nov 2016 to 29 Nov 2016. Now, for the public interest and to avoid last minute rush among candidates, CBSE has notified the extension of last date of application submission and re-scheduled the facility for correction in the data by candidates. Hence, the last date for applying online application for UGC-NET January 2017 is 23 November, 2016 (Wednesday).

The UGC NET exam will be conducted by CBSE on 22 January 2017 (Sunday).  On behalf of UGC, the CBSE, is conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian Universities and Colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 90 selected NET Examination Cities spread across the country.
