Ahmedabad: The National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad invites applications for its various courses: Master of Design (M Des), Bachelor of Design (B Des) and Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD).  Interested candidates seeking admission into these courses have to appear Design Aptitude Test (DAT) (both Prelims and Main). DAT 2017 will be held on 8 January 2016 (Sunday). The last date of submission of online application is 28 November 2016.

DAT 2017 will be held in two phases. All candidates will have to appear preliminary test, which  is a pen and paper based test on 8 January 2017. The preliminary test will have two sections: Part A and Part B while Part A will have objective type questions and part B will have subjective type questions. Those candidates clear the first round test will be eligible for NID DAT main exam. It comprises of a studio test and interview round.

Eligibility Criteria National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test 2017:

Master of Design (MDes): The minimum educational qualification is Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under any university or institute. Candidates applying for the MDes programme must be not more than 30 years of age before June 30, 2017.

Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Graduate Diploma: The minimum education qualification for this programme is 12th pass from any recognised board of education like CBSE, ICSE, IB or their equivalent board. Final examination of the 10+2 system under a central or state board recognised by the Association of Universities are considered equivalent to these above boards.

How to Apply: All the interested candidates are required to register/sign up online before proceeding to fill the application form at the official website of NID.  Candidates nee to provide a valid email address and an active mobile number while registering.

National Institute of Design (NID) is an ‘Institute of National Importance’ as per the NID Act 2014 as well as an autonomous institute under the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.  Masters of Design (M.Des.) of two-and-a-half years duration and Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) of four-year duration. The Institute is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). NID Vijayawada is an independent autonomous institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and offers four-year long Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD). NID Kurukshetra is an independent autonomous institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and offers four-year long Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD).
