Kolkata: NSHM Knowledge Campus, based in West Bengal, yesterday (20 December 2016) hosted an inspirational evening with internationally acclaimed motivational speaker, Mr Sam Cawthorn. Hundreds of young students and other dignitaries present at the event, listened with rapt attention as Mr Cawthorn spoke on ‘Bounce Forward & Importance of Story Showcasing for Effective Communication’.

Mr Samuel “Sam” Cawthorn is an Australian motivational speaker, success coach, self-help author and entrepreneur. Mr Cawthorn is best known as the 2009 Young Australian of the Year for Tasmania and his work as a motivational speaker. Mr. Cawthorn worked in sales before discovering a passion for helping people. This inspired him to work as a trainer in Northern Tasmania and lead to his promotion as a training manager.

In October 2006, Mr Cawthorn met a head-on collision with a semi-trailer and needed to be resuscitated. He faced severe injuries including the amputation of his right arm above the elbow and damage to his right leg. Inspite of being distraught by the prospect that he may never walk again, he adopted a positive attitude towards life and bounced forward to reach even greater heights than before.

“We are delighted to have Mr Sam Cawthorn amongst us. He is a living inspiration with an outlook to erase all obstacles and move ahead in life. Our students will get motivated and look forward to leading a meaningful life,” said Mr Cecil Antony, Chief Mentor, NSHM Knowledge Campus.

The session was followed by a Q & A round.  The man who has triumphed over major obstacles, shared his life story and challenges in achieving goals.

It has always been NSHM’s endeavour to host such inspirational figures to engage students, improve faculty productivity and increase alumni outreach.
