Jamshedpur: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur invites applications for admission as Full-time Research Scholar and Part-time Research Scholar to PhD Programme of the Institute for the Spring Semester of 2018-19. Full-time research scholar is eligible to receive institute fellowship.
Key Dates: The closing date for online submission of application form is 28 December 2017. Date of written test and interview at NIT Jamshedpur is 07 January 2019 (Monday).

Qualification for Eligibility:
(a) Ph. D in Engineering:
Master Degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CPI 6.5
OR
Bachelor’s degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with minimum 75% marks or equivalent CPI 8.0
(b) Ph. D in Sciences, Computer Applications, Humanities, Social Sciences and
Management
Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum 60% marks or equivalent CPI 6.5
OR
Bachelor’s degree in relevant branch of Engineering with minimum 75% marks or equivalent CPI 8.0
The candidates selected for admission to PhD Programme as full-time research scholar is eligible to receive institute fellowship as follows. The tenure of a research fellowship is four years only but it is based on the performance of the research work and other assignments of the Department.
The selection procedure for admission to PhD Programme is based on consistently good academic record throughout and test/interview performance. Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/ PWD are applicable as per GOI norms.
