Tirupati, 30 April 2021: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati invites applications from prospective candidates for admission to the PhD and Integrated PhD (I-PhD)programme, August 2022. In this round, the research areas are as followed: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and associated interdisciplinary areas of research.

Closing date of Online Application : 23 May 2021
Joining in PhD Program: 02 August 2021 (Tentative)
Age Limit: Preferably not more than 28 yrs at the time of joining. Age relaxation of 3yrs will be given for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC/ST/PD/Female candidates. Candidates belonging to reserved category will have to submit relevant certificates, if selected. Relaxation may also be given whenever suitable candidates are not available, in exceptional circumstances.
Selection Procedure for PhD Programmes:
The shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview and final selection is based on interview performance.
Overview of the I-PhD program:
IISER Tirupati offers Integrated PhD (I-PhD) as a research program with a blend of course work and research. On successful completion of the doctoral research project, students are awarded a Master of Science degree and a PhD degree. The first three semesters of the program consists of core courses, elective courses and advanced courses specializing in one subject and is combined with project/research work. On successful completion of the course work, related project/research work and a comprehensive examination, the student continues with the research leading to a PhD.
The I-PhD program is offered in the disciplines of Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical Sciences for the August 2021 session.
Selection Procedure:
The shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview and the final selection will be based on the interview performance. The respective departments may use additional criteria (based on academic performance and/or performance in the national level tests) in order to shortlist candidates for interviews.
