Smiling Tree and Vandana Ma’am motivated students of Leelawanti Saraswati Vidya Mandir School to become green warriors and take care of the environment not only themselves but inspire their parents and friends also, on World Environment Day which is celebrated every year on 5th of June.
They can do so by cleaning their habitat and surroundings, planting trees and avoid using plastic things.
Drishti, Indrani, Priyali, Kyan, Ojaswi, Rudhrakshi, Yuvaan, Gabriel, Lavanya, Divansh, Aradhya, Yug and many more students planted saplings and spread awareness about harms of using plastic. Kheiyan Dhakla with help from her grandparents did a commendable job by planting 70 trees in parks near to her home. Students like Vipanyu and more took pledge with their families to contribute by their actions towards a clean, healthy and plastic free environment. Smiling Tree appreciates the efforts of these students and Vandana Ma’am.
Smiling Tree founder Dr Mukesh Kwatra encouraged these children to plant vegetables at home. He gave them a brief insight about the different varieties that can be planted in the ongoing season, how to plant and nurture them.
Dr Kwatra said, ‘The theme for World Environment Day 2022 is “Only One Earth”, which focuses on living sustainably in harmony with nature. And the young green warriors by their efforts can lead us from the front.’
