New Delhi, 13 January  2023: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi,  an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for Spring Semester 2022-2023 Session (Full-Time/Part-Time/Sponsored). Institute Fellowship benefits are available for Full Time Research scholars.

Types of PhD:

Institute Fellowships

CSIR/ UGC-JRF/SRF/INSPIRE/Project  Fellows. Etc.)

Part Time / Self Financed

Key Dates & Application Fees:  The cut off  Date for Institute Fellowships is 31 January 2023.

The cut off date for CSIR/ UGC-JRF/SRF/INSPIRE/Project  Fellows. Etc.) and Part Time / Self Financed

is 31 March 2023.

Eligibility Conditions:

Educational Qualifications:

An applicant possessing the prescribed qualifications shall be eligible for admission to a Ph.D. program of the institute.

The eligibility criteria for Ph.D. is as below:

Ph. D in Engineering:

Master’s degree in respective discipline or equivalent with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institute wherever letter grades are awarded; or 60% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded. B. Tech degree and Dual Degree (B. Tech & M. Tech) holders having final CGPA >= 8.00 from Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) or National Institute of Technology (NITs) with a valid GATE score will be eligible for admission in Ph.D.

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology with a minimum of 70% marks in aggregate or

equivalent CGPA and a minimum of 10 years of work experience (at the level of Assistant Professor or

equivalent) in an engineering degree level technical Institute or R&D organization/industry, and

Evidence of Master’s level R&D work completed.

Ph. D in Sciences:

Minimum Requirement: Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of sciences with a minimum of 60%

marks or equivalent CGPA at Master’s and/or Bachelor’s Levels.

 Additional Requirement: Candidate must have GATE score/CSIR/UGC/NBHM award/NBHM

award/fellowship for full time Ph.D.
