New Delhi : Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) launches a one-year Post Graduate Program in Interaction Design & UX focusing on integrating design principles, user experience methodologies, emerging technologies, and more.
This 12-month cutting-edge course is designed to equip learners with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills in creating intuitive, user-centric digital experiences. The program is being offered in collaboration with TimesPro in an online Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode, with an optional three-day campus immersion at IIIT-Delhi. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between IIIT-Delhi and TimesPro. The project will be led by Dr. Pragma Kar and Dr. Richa Gupta from IIIT-Delhi, in collaboration with Mr. Sridhar Nagarajachar (Business Head- Executive Education TimesPro).
During an interaction, Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director, IIIT-Delhi, said, “The Post Graduate Program in Interaction Design and UX at IIIT-Delhi, in collaboration with TimesPro, will equip learners with hands-on skills to design intuitive, user-centered experiences. The students will be trained to solve complex design challenges by applying user research, interaction design techniques, and evaluation methodologies to enhance the overall user experience, making them industry-ready and capable of driving innovation.”
The Program Directors, Dr. Pragma Kar and Dr. Richa Gupta, both Assistant Professors in the Department of Human-Centered Design at IIIT-Delhi, shared their views on the launch, remarking on the program’s relevance and potential impact. Speaking about the launch, Kar said, “Interaction Design and UX are key facets of Human-Computer Interaction that shape nearly every aspect of modern life. This program will integrate key principles of design, human factors, and forms of interactions with cutting-edge topics like AR/VR, Tangible Interfaces, Wearable Technology, and the role of Generative AI in design, among others. Its interdisciplinary approach, combining design thinking with technological innovation, will equip learners with industry-ready skills, and the program will further support them through career guidance in personal branding, business communication, and more.”
Dr. Gupta added, “This PG Diploma course is a first-of-its-kind One-year program in HCI which will not only engage learners with emerging technologies but also dive deep into the theoretical frameworks and fundamental processes associated with the domain. The program will be delivered by expert faculty from IIIT-Delhi along with domain experts from the industry which would expose learners to conceptual as well as applied aspects of HCI. The learners will surely gain a competitive edge in their professional or academic journeys through this program.”
