IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), the worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in business, has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with five leading higher education institutions in Rajasthan to strengthen career readiness and professional skills among students pursuing careers in accounting and finance.

The MoUs have been signed with Banasthali Vidyapith, Manipal University Jaipur, Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, St. Xavier’s College Jaipur, and JECRC University. These partnerships aim to bridge the gap between classroom learning and evolving industry requirements by creating greater awareness of globally recognised accounting and finance qualifications and equipping students with practical, future-ready competencies.

The partnerships coincide with the launch of the IMA Jaipur Chapter, IMA’s 11th professional chapter in India. The new chapter will serve as a regional platform for finance and accounting professionals, students, educators, and industry stakeholders to engage through professional development programs, networking opportunities, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and industry-focused events. Through the chapter, IMA India aims to build a stronger professional community in Rajasthan and provide local access to global resources, learning pathways, and industry insights.

Under the MoUs, all five partner institutions will work closely with IMA India to complement their academic curricula with globally recognised professional education pathways. Students will gain access to information, resources, and learning opportunities related to IMA’s globally recognised certifications, including the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant), CSCA® (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis), and FMAA™ (Financial and Managerial Accounting Associate) credentials. These programs are designed to equip learners with practical knowledge and industry-relevant competencies in areas such as financial planning, performance management, analytics, strategic finance, and competitive analysis.

In addition to its globally recognised certification pathways, IMA also offers specialised micro-credentials designed to help finance and accounting professionals build practical, future-ready skills in areas such as AI readiness, data fluency, financial decision-making, forecasting, analytics, visualisation, and business decision support. These focused learning pathways complement IMA’s broader professional development ecosystem and are aimed at helping learners and professionals strengthen industry-relevant capabilities that can be applied in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Sunil Deshmukh, IMA Global Board Chair Emeritus, said, “The launch of the Jaipur Chapter is a significant milestone in IMA’s continued efforts to deepen its engagement across India. Rajasthan has a strong academic and professional ecosystem, and the chapter will provide a dedicated platform to support professional development, networking, knowledge sharing, and industry engagement in the region. By bringing IMA’s global resources and professional network closer to finance and accounting professionals in Rajasthan, we aim to help build a stronger, future-ready professional community.”

Arindam Ghosh, Country Head, IMA India, added, “Our partnerships with leading universities and colleges in Rajasthan reflect IMA’s commitment to strengthening academia-industry collaboration and supporting the next generation of accounting and finance professionals. Through these MoUs, we aim to create greater awareness of internationally recognised professional certifications and equip students with the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to build globally relevant careers in today’s evolving business environment.”

The partnerships will facilitate a range of initiatives, including seminars, conferences, workshops, research collaborations, guest lectures, and professional learning opportunities designed to enhance students’ understanding of contemporary accounting, finance, and business practices. The institutions will also receive support in participating in IMA’s Higher Education Endorsement Program, which recognises academic programs that effectively prepare students for professional success.

As part of the initiative, IMA India will also provide up to five distinguished student scholarships annually to eligible students from partner institutions, subject to IMA guidelines. The scholarships are intended to encourage academic excellence and support aspiring professionals in pursuing globally relevant certifications.

With the establishment of these academic partnerships and the launch of the Jaipur Chapter, IMA India continues to reinforce its commitment to advancing the accounting and finance profession in India while supporting students, educators, and professionals through meaningful industry-academia engagement.
