Nanded, Maharashtra: Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIE&T), Nanded (Maharashtra) has invited online applications for admission to PhD (Institute Research Scholar Scheme-Full time) programme in the various departments /broad areas of Research for the academic year 2017-18.
The following departments are offering PhD programmes: Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, and Textile Technology.
Eligibility Conditions:
1.1.1 Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent in the relevant area of research along with Bachelor’s degree in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology or equivalent with a first class or equivalent Grade Point at Master’s and / or Bachelors” level.
1.1.2 Valid GATE score OR qualified PhD Entrance Examination of SGGS-SRTMU Nanded OR qualified and valid SRTMU PET OR any other criteria specified by SRTM University, Nanded from time to time.
Financial Assistance: Full time Research Scholars admitted to PhD Programmes under regular full time scheme are eligible for the following Half- Time teaching / Research assistantship (HTRA) for which: They should work for eight hours per week in the department to earn this assistantship: Stipend for first Two Years (Rs. 25,000/- per month); Stipend for Third Year – Rs. 28,000/- per month.
Selection Procedure and Admissions: Students will be admitted as per the following criteria:
Students qualifying SGGS joint PhD Entrance Test with SRTMU Nanded at the institute level. The Entrance Test syllabus and pattern will be same as SRTM University Nanded. For details, please visit university website. OR
Students having SRTM University valid PET score OR
Students having valid GATE score OR.
Students exempted from PET by SRTM University as per University PhD admission norms.
The eligible candidates shall be called for the interview. At the time of interview candidates may be asked to discuss their research interest / area in the form of presentation.
How to apply: Last date for submission of on-line application form along with required documents and fees is 10 July 2017. Application fee is Rs 1,000/- (Rs. 750/- for SC/ST candidates).
A candidate interested in applying in more than one department / category shall be required to submit separate application form along with appropriate fees and documents.
