New Delhi: In a new development, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has decided to rope in the National Testing Agency to conduct the JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE) 2019-20. The NTA will conduct JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE) 2019-20 in May 2019. Earlier, JNUEE was conducted in December 2017 for Academic Year 2018-19.

In its 148th academic council meeting, the university has announced that JNU Entrance Test 2019-20 will be computer-based keeping in view the difficulties of students to write the examination in December 2019.

The JNU academic council informed that JNU is going to offer admissions nearly 1080 MPhil and PhD seats for enrollment. Last year 720 research seats were on offer for admission.

JNU is the first Central University to have collaborated with the NTA, which has commenced its operation in October 2018.

To make the entrance examinations accessible to the applicants even from remote areas, the number of examination will be doubled as compared to previous years.  Mock test centres will also be introduced so that prospective applicants can practice and become familiar with the computer-based entrance examinations well before the scheduled dates of the examinations.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. To assess competence of candidates for admissions and recruitment has always been a challenge in terms of matching with research based international standards, efficiency, transparency and error free delivery.
