New Delhi:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to relax the mandatory provision of submission/upload of the category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) or result certificates to apply the CSIR- UGC NET Examinations June 2020.  ‘

Union HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted about this relaxation on Saturday, “Dear Joint CSIR-UGC NET aspirants! In view of the difficulties faced by you & the situation arising out of #COVID19 lockdown, I have advised  @DG_NTA.”

CSIR- UGC NET candidates who are finding difficulty in obtaining the mandatory category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) or result certificates to apply for the examination due to the Covid-19 lockdown. Hence, Candidates have now been allowed to submit their application for CSIR NET without the category or result certificate.

However, the NTA in a press release mentioned that the candidates will have to submit their documents later, when they are asked to.

NTA has already extended the deadline to apply for the CSIR- UGC NET 2020 till 15 May 2020.  Candidates should apply for the examination online at csirnet.nta.nic.in without delay.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has entrusted the responsibility of conducting CSIR-UGC NET in CBT mode to NTA. CSIR-UGC NET is a test being conducted to determine the eligibility ‘for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship/Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by UGC.
