New Delhi, 06 December 2019: Today is the last day of the exam for UGC NET December 2019. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the UGC-NET Examination from 02 to 06 December 2019 for 10,34,872 candidates, covering 81 subjects. The exam would be conducted in 700 centres in 219 cities. The exam will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, for the third time.
Out of more than 10 lakh candidates who have registered to appear the test, more than 55% of them are female. Nearly 5.7 lakh are female and 4,6 are male candidates. 37 candidates belong to Transgender category.
Nearly 2.9 lakh candidates under General category have registered for the Test. In the new category General-Economic Weaker Section (EWS), more than 67 thousand candidates registered.

The UGC – NET (National Eligibility Test), an exam for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor, is one of toughest competitive tests.
A Control Room has been opened and 19 Regional Coordinators, 200 City Coordinators and 600 Observers have been positioned.
Live CCTV- as done earlier, CCTV Surveillance will be started in 700 examination centres to curb malpractices in the examinations. The NTA has made arrangements for live viewing at remote locations and recording of CCTVs Systems of all examination centres at control room situated in the NTA. A total of more than 1450 CCTV Cameras in each shift have been installed.
Pass Rate of UGC NET June 2019: The total number of candidates registered for June 2019 UGC NET were more than 9.4 Lakh (9,42,419). The total number of candidates appeared both papers were more than 6.8 Lakh (6,81,718).
Out of 6.8 Lakh appeared candidates, more than 50,000 qualified for for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. The qualifying rate for eligibility for Assistant Professor was 7.5%, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only 7.5 candidates qualified the test.
In case of JRF, only more than 4.7 thousand (4,756) candidates, qualified. The pass rate was only 0.70, means out 100 candidates appeared the test, only less than one candidates qualified the test.
