Mumbai: The results of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017 will be announced on 27 March 2017( Monday , 18:00 Hours), as per the information Brochure of GATE 2017. The results of GATE 2017 will be available on the official website of GATE 2017: http://www.gate.iitr.ernet.in/ .

Final answer keys after candidate’s challenges have been already uploaded on the GATE 2017 website (since 16 March 2017). More than 9.23 Lakh candidates have applied for the examination held on 4 & 5 February 2017 and 11 & 12 February 2017. Examinations for all the 23 papers (disciplines) were conducted by an Online Computer Based Test (CBT).

IIT Roorkee is the organizing institute for GATE 2017. GATE has emerged as one of the bench mark tests for engineering and science aptitude in facilitating admissions for higher education (MTech/PhD) in IITs, IISc and various other Institutes/ Universities/ Laboratories in India. Over the last few years, GATE score is also being used as one of the criteria for recruitment in Government Organizations such as Cabinet Secretariat, and National/State Public Sector Undertakings in India. Because of the importance of the GATE examination, the number of candidates appearing in GATE exams has increased tremendously.

Further, a valid GATE score is essential for obtaining financial assistance/fellowships during Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture, and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science in Institutes supported by the MHRD or other Government agencies.

For the first time, GATE 2017 was conducted in foreign countries: Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates.
