Bangalore: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, India’s top ranked Research & Education Institution, has released Mid-Year Admissions 2019 for its Research (PhD) programmes: Research (Ph D) Programmes and Ph D – External Registration Programme (ERP). The PhD programme will commence from 01 January 2019.
Participating Departments: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Automation, Computational and Data Sciences, Electrical Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering, Instrumentation and Applied Physics, Inorganic & Physical Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Materials Research, Mechanical Engineering, Nanoscience and Engineering, Physics, and Product Design and Manufacturing.
Interdisciplinary programme – Biosystems Science and Engineering, Energy.
Key Dates & Application Fees: The online application window has opened from 01 October 2019. The application portal will close on 31 October 2019. The interview will be held on 18 &19 November 2019. The PhD programme will commence from 01 January 2019.
For General / OBC, the application fee is Rs.800/- . For SC / ST / PwD application fee is Rs.400/-. For ERP candidates, the application fee is Rs 2000 /- .

NET JRF includes – CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; UGC-NET for JRF; DBT JRF; ICMR JRF; JEST; NBHM Screening Test 2019; INSPIRE.
Selection Procedure: Short-listing is based either on performance in national entrance tests or on the academic performance in the qualifying degree examination as per the table above. The final selection is based on the performance in an interview (in some of the departments, a written test will precede the interview).
