Dharwad: Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad has invited online applications from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. Program for Autumn Semester 2018-19.
The Ph.D. Admission is available in following departments:
- Biosciences and Bioengineering
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: M. Tech. /M.Phil. /MSc./B.Tech or equivalent in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Computer Science/ Information technology or other allied biology subjects.
MSc/B.Tech– Must have Valid GATE Score/ Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of
CSIR/UGC/ DBT/ICAR/ICMR/ ICPR/PMRF or DST INSPIRES Fellowship.
For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree (M.Tech./M.E.) is First Class a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate.
For SC/ST category candidates, a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.
Key Dates: Last date of application is 30-06-2018 & Date/s of examinations are 09-07-2017 and 10-07-2018.
- Chemistry
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry.
Valid GATE Score. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of CSIR/UGC/DST INSPIRE or any other funding agencies. M.Phil or M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree in chemistry.
For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree is
First Class a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate. For SC/ST/PwD category candidates, a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.
Key Dates: Last date of application is 10-06-2018. Screening Test and Interview are 06-07-2018 & 07-07-2018.
- Computer Science and Engineering
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: M.Tech. or equivalent degree (in any stream).
For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree (M.Tech./M.E.) & the Bachelor’s Degree (B. E. /B. Tech./M. Sc) is First Class a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate. For SC/ST category candidates and differently abled candidates (PwD), a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.
Key Dates: Last date of application is 15-05-2018. Dates for the Selection Process are 29-06-2018 & 30-06-2018.
- Electrical Engineering
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree in Electrical
Engineering, Electronics and (Tele) Communication Engineering, and Instrumentation and
Control Engineering.
For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree (M.Tech./M.E.) & the Bachelor’s Degree (B. E. /B. Tech./M. Sc) is First Class a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate. For SC/ST category candidates and differently abled candidates (PwD), a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.

- Humanities and Social Sciences
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree 55% aggregate overall in M.A. (without round off). For SC/ST category candidates and differently abled candidates (PwD) 50% aggregate overall in M.A. (without round off).

- Mathematics
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree 60% aggregate overall in M.Sc/ M.Tech/ M.Phil. (Without round off) & candidates should possess valid GATE score. For SC/ST category candidates and differently abled candidates (PwD), a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.
Key Dates: Last date of application is 01-06-2018. Date of Exam 12-07-2018.
- Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree with specialization in either Machine Design or Thermal and Fluid Sciences of Mechanical Engineering Department.
For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree (M.Tech./M.E.) is First Class a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate .
For SC/ST category candidates, a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.

- Physics
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Program: M. Sc. or equivalent degree in Physics. B. Tech./B. E. or equivalent degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
For General/OBC category candidates the eligibility criteria in the qualifying degree is
First Class a minimum of 60% marks (without round off) in aggregate. For SC/ST/PwD category candidates, a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree is applicable.
Key Dates: Last date of application is 01-06-2018. Screening Test and Interview is 29-06-2018.
