Kharagpur, 15 March 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, an Institute of National Importance, has announced admission to Joint MTech/MCP–PhD Programme under various disciplines for AC 2021-22.
Under this programme, at the end of first year, interested students having CGPA 8.0 and above are eligible to appear for written test and/or interview to judge their suitability to enrol for PhD. Those who do not qualify for PhD can continue with their two-year MTech/MCP programme.
Students selected for Ph.D will have to complete the two year academic requirements of MTech/MCP programme before enrolment for PhD For these students the MTech/MCP and Ph.D degree will be awarded together upon successful completion of PhD.
Assistantship: Students in the two-year M.Tech./MCP programme receive an assistantship of Rs. 12,400.00 per month and Rs. 31,000.00 per month after enrolment to PhD programme (if selected) after completion of MTech/MCP programme.
Students completing Registration Seminar in the Ph.D. programme will receive an additional amount of Rs. 4,000/- per month for one year.
