Amarkantak, Madya Pradesh: The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) Amarkantak, a central university, has invited applications from eligible students for admission to Under Graduate courses, DPharma & BPharma, BEd, PG and Doctoral programmes.
The admission to the above programmes will be done through an all India entrance examination. The online application window has opened since 20 February 2017. The closing date for submission of online application is 09 April 2017. The entrance test for PG and PhD programmes will be held on 29 April 2017. The Reservation of seats is available as per the norms of the Government of Madhya Pradesh for admission at IGNTU at Amarkantak and as per the norms of the Govt of Manipur for admission at RCM at Imphal.
PhD Progarmmes: The PhD programmes offered by IGNTU are available in the following subjects: English, Hindi, Applied Psychology, Economics, Commerce, Computer Science, Political Science & Human Rights, Sociology & Social Anthropology, Tribal Studies, Linguistics and Contrastive Study of Tribal Languages, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Education and Pharmacy.
Also, the university offers PhD programmes in the below mentioned subjects where no Entrance Exam will be conducted and candidates who cleared NET/JRF only need to apply. These subjects are: Communication and Media Studies, Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology, Geography and Regional Development; Business Management, Tourism Management, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry and History.
Eligibility Criteria for PhD Programmes: MPhil or Masters Degree in relevant subjects from any University with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD/ Transgender and Kashmiri Migrant Students) are eligible to apply. To pass the entrance exam conducted by the University, the candidates belongs to open category have to secure a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD/ Transgender and Kashmiri Migrant Students. The written test is only an eligibility criterion for successful candidates to appear for personal Interaction in the ratio of 1:3 for final selection. UGC-JRF/NET, ICMRNET, ICAR-NET, DBT-JRF, DST-WS and SLET candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test; however they have to attend personal interaction for selection.

Gujarat-Panchamahal,Manipur-Imphal,Nagaland-Dimapur,Kerala-Wayanad,Uttaranchal Dehradun,Meghalaya-Shillong,Jharkhand-Ranchi,Jammu, Himachal Pradesh-Kangra, Uttar Pradesh-Kanpur.
The master degree courses are available in the following subjects: English, Hindi, Linguistics, Applied Psychology, Economics, Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, History, Geography and Regional Development (MA/MSc), Political Science & Human Rights, Sociology & Social Anthropology, Tribal Studies, Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC), MBA, MBA (Travel and Tourism Management), MCom and MSW.
