New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) stated in a press statement that the candidates scheduled to appear in Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2019 Examination at the Examination Centres located in the States of Assam and Meghalaya are hereby informed that their exam which was scheduled to be held on 15 December 2019 has been postponed.
In Assam the exam centres are located in the cities of Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Sivasagar and Tezpur) meanwhile in Meghalaya exam centres are located in the city of Shillong) are hereby informed that their exam which was scheduled to be held on 15 December 2019 has been postponed.
In other States/UTs, the Examination shall be held on 15 December 2019 as per schedule intimated earlier.
Following the protests against Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 (CAB) and subsequent unrest the NTA has postpone the Exam in Assam and Meghalaya. Rest of India the exam will be conducted as per the schedule.
NTA has informed the revised date of examination for the States of Assam and Meghalaya will be announced soon. All the candidates are advised to regularly visit the website of NTA www.nta.ac.in and https://csirnet.nta.nic.in for further information.
More than Two Lakh Eighty Thousand candidates have registered to appear Joint CSIR-UGC (NET) EXAM for December 2029.
CSIR-UGC NET is a test being conducted to determine the eligibility ‘for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship/Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges in five basic science subjects.
