Visakhapatnam: Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), Deemed University, Visakhapatnam, offers the following Research programmes for the academic year 2019-20: PhD (Full-time / Part-time); and MPhil (Full-time / Part-time).

Candidates seeking admission into MPhil or PhD programme can pursue research under Full-Time and Part-Time, subject to eligibility criteria stipulated below:
Educational Qualification: Eligibility criteria for admission into MPhil/PhD programmes are given in Appendix-II of the Information Brochure. The candidates should have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade B in the UGC 7 – point scale or the point scale followed in the concerned Institutions. However, a relaxation of 5% marks or an equivalent grade is permitted for SC / ST / OBC (Non creamy layer) / Differently abled candidates.
Admission shall be based on the marks secured in the Entrance test and Interview, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and the rules of reservation.
Candidates belonging to the following categories need not appear for the Entrance Test: Those who are qualified and possessing a valid score in UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / ICMR / GATE / GPAT / SLET / Teacher Fellowship and MPhil Degree holders.
Fellowships: Few Merit Research Fellowships will be provided to the Ph.D. (Full time) candidates for a maximum duration of three years, subject to review the progress of work and publication output every year. The merit research fellowship for candidates with NET / GATE / SLET is Rs. 20,000/- per month and for candidates without NET / GATE / SLET is Rs. 15,000/- per month.
